Gillfor Manufacturing Officially Finalizes Acquisition of Teal-Jones Group
Statement from Gillfor Manufacturing Inc. | October 30, 2026
Gillfor Manufacturing Inc. is pleased to announce that its acquisition of the Teal-Jones Group’s Surrey, Sumas, and TFL 46 operations has been officially completed, pursuant to the British Columbia Supreme Court reverse vesting order granted on September 18, 2026. Gillfor is now the sole owner of these operations and has full control of the business going forward.
This acquisition preserves vital forestry infrastructure and hundreds of jobs, supports local communities, and strengthens the foundation of British Columbia’s coastal forest industry.
A clean cut-off: previous ownership and go-forward business
Under the reverse vesting order, all excluded pre-closing claims and liabilities have been transferred out of the business and remain with the CCAA estate, administered by the Monitor. The new Teal-Jones Group operations continue under Gillfor’s ownership on a clean footing. All claims, invoices, or issues up to and including October 30, 2026 must be directed to the Court-appointed Monitor, Ernst & Young Inc.
Stronger capabilities and lasting partnerships
Gillfor’s combined business brings together expertise in Western Red Cedar, Hemlock, and Douglas Fir, supported by established sawmilling operations, value-added manufacturing, distribution, and longstanding global relationships. Together, we will expand our product offering and strengthen supply and marketing capabilities through efficient management, manufacturing, and innovation.
Returning to normal business
We look forward to working with our customers, vendors, suppliers, and service providers to re-establish normal business conditions, including standard terms and regularly scheduled services. The Teal-Jones Group operating name will remain, and contact personnel are unchanged. Please reach out to our team to discuss ongoing requirements and support a smooth transition.
“The CCAA process has been long and demanding for everyone involved. With the transaction complete, we look forward to putting it behind us and focusing on the future, returning this business to long-term success for our employees, partners, and the coastal forest industry. I respect and recognize Tom and Dick Jones for their longstanding contributions to the forest industry. I wish them good health and success.”
— Gary Gill, Chairman of Gillfor Group
