Sustainable Practices
The Teal-Jones Group is committed to the ongoing health and sustainability of our forests, our environment, and our industry’s future.
Teal-Jones’ forestry operations voluntarily meet Canada’s leading national standard for sustainable forest management through the Canadian Standards Association Sustainable Forest Management Z809 Standard. An important part of this standard is the systematic approach to corporate management which requires continual improvement. The system is based on the on-going adaptive management process of management commitment; planning; implementation and operation; checking and management review.
Teal-Jones’ wood products are certified under the Program for Endorsement of Forest Certification Chain of Custody System.
These standards provide for independent third-party verification, assuring the public of sustainable forest management planning and practices based upon benchmarks derived from internationally-recognized, ongoing and long term, intergovernmental processes and guidelines.
